Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as the Program Director for our Housing Assistance and Mental Health Services programs. Under general direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director will work across agency with individual program directors to manage all aspects of the programs, including service delivery, program evaluation, staff management, and accreditation compliance. Associate Organizing Director

CAUSE is currently seeking an Associate Organizing Director that will leverage their seasoned organizing, leadership development, and management skills to deepen the impact of existing programming and grow membership in thoughtful and sustaining ways. With the heart of an organizer and a visionary brain, this role is responsible for overseeing CAUSE’s team of Ventura County Organizers. This position will report to CAUSE’s Organizing Director and work closely with another peer Associate Organizing Director. The Associate Organizing Director will play a hands-on role directly supervising up to 4 organizers, developing work plans, campaign timelines and ensuring execution of these plans while providing their supervisees necessary training, guidance and feedback.  This Associate Organizing Director will be ultimately responsible for their team of organizers’ ability to build a base of immigrants, youth, renters and workers who will push forward local campaigns around social, economic and environmental justice.  This position is regional and can be based in one of CAUSE’s offices in Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Paula, or Santa Barbara. 

The Organizing Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Train organizers to use the CAUSE organizing model to recruit and retain adult, young adult and youth leaders in the cities of Oxnard, Santa Paula and Ventura. 
  • Directly supervising 4 CAUSE organizers, providing coaching, feedback and accountability to supervisees 
  • Facilitate weekly city-based team meetings and create space for strategizing and coordination between that city’s organizers and policy advocates
  • Act as the City Team Lead for one of CAUSE’s five city-based chapters, coordinating the team’s strategic vision, serving as the senior staff member in the office, and maintaining CAUSE’s relationships and visibility within the community of that city
  • Participate in CAUSE’s Senior Staff Team to set organizational direction and policies and collaborate with other departments including Policy/Communications Team and Operations Team 
  • Ensure that any CAUSE community facing publications are accessible to our membership base by working with the Policy/Communications Team to develop and review materials like flyers, fact sheets, talking points etc. needed for organizing campaigns
  • Managing hiring, orientation, and training of supervisees and other human resources duties such as approving timesheets and paid time off
  • Represent the organization in regional and/or statewide organizing circles and coalitions
  • Participating in some grassroots fundraising, grant writing and reporting
  • Conduct regular employee and program evaluations

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required at a level of proficiency to develop raps and review Spanish language publications for accessibility

Description:

The Program Manager (PM) reports directly to the Board of Directors (the Board).   The PM has overall responsibility for the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County’s (SJFVC) programs, fundraising, and the execution of its mission. Acting like a project manager, the PM works closely with an active board, manages action plans, and executes the Board’s priorities in accordance with the SJFVS’s mission and values.  The PM ensures action plans are implemented.

The Board of the SJFVC is an active board, thoroughly involved in the necessary actions to accomplish its mission while focusing on its primary duty to uphold the core mission and values of the organization. Board members will collaborate with the PM in executing action plans and supporting fundraising and operations, as well as leading committees and coaching Fellows.  

The PM and Board work together to develop objectives and goals aligned with the mission of the SJFVC. Each year the board and the PM reach agreement on specific objectives and goals for the PM as well as activities that board members will do in the tasks outlined below.  The Board will collaborate with the PM in executing action plans and supporting fundraising and operations, as well as leading committees and coaching Fellows.

The program manager’s role is a part time role working 25 to 30 hours per week. The work is done largely remotely using zoom with occasional in-person meetings with the board, Fellows and other stakeholders in Ventura County.  Hours are flexible with board meetings one evening a month as well as 3 or 4 board retreats or donor events a year during the weekend.

Salary Range: Part Time - 25 hours per week; $27 - $28 per hour

The PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active Rewarding Lives) Coach’s primary responsibility is to deliver PEARLS Program core services to the identified target populations and maintain fidelity to the program model. The PEARLS program is designed to reduce depression in community-based older adults aged 60+. Key activities for the PEARLS Coach include participant recruitment, assessment, and delivery of community-based direct services and interventions. Other key functions include timely completion of all documentation, compliance with data collection and submission requirements, and active participation in weekly clinical and programmatic supervision. Effective coordination with both internal and external providers and other PEARLS Team members is expected. This position reports to the PEARLS Program Manager.

6. Provide strength-based, culturally responsive intervention with clients using the PEARLS problem-solving treatment approach.
7. Meet deadlines, follow through on commitments, and complete all administrative and clinical documentation and data collection activities.
8. Utilize databases to monitor and reflect program contacts, activities, and outcomes. Ensure client records and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and confidential. Complete closing documentation including referrals to other services or crisis support services as needed.
10. Proactively communicate and collaborate with clients and PEARLS team members.

The Director of Resource Development & Marketing will lead all activities and be prepared to advance United Way of Ventura County’s (UWVC) resource development efforts with aggressive annual growth.
